While I am waiting for the answers to my Bestseller interview, I would like to share with you one of my crochet earrings free patterns.

The spring is almost here; you can see flowers blooming everywhere, so I was inspired to make flower-with-heart-petals earrings.Flower earrings free pattern

The best thing about these flower earrings is that you can make them with bigger hook and yarn, and they become cute crochet coasters. Also, the earrings or the coaster is a great idea to use your scrap yarn.

I hope you like my pattern. If you make it, I would love to see your creation, so please, tag me into your post on Facebook or Instagram. You can find me here:

If you are not familiar with the tapestry crochet technique, please, read How to do tapestry crochet post fist.

R1: MR, 8 yellow SC. Pull the ring together and continue to work in a spiral.

R2: Introduce blue and pink yarn. You make 8 INC over the yellow tail from the first round:

*(INC (1 blue, 1 pink), INC (2 blue))* x 4 {16}

Below you can see the photo tutorial on how to make the color change. You start your color change on the SC just before the color change.

Go into the stitch with blue yarn, pull the loop, you have two loops on your hook. Yarn under the pink yarn and pull through. Remember to maintain tension. When pulling through with the new color, the stitch you just completed will lose tension. Be sure to correct it before moving on.

Start pink SC, go into the next stitch, pull the loop, you have two loops on your hook. Yarn under the blue yarn and pull through. Be sure that you remember to yarn under when pulling through with the new yarn.

You make your first blue SC of the R3 into the last blue SC of the R2. Please note that in the photo, you will see that the last stitch of the R2 was pink. I have changed the sequence of the spiral so that the last and the first stitch is blue. The heart comes up looking better at the end.

R3: *(1 blue SC, INC(2 pink), 1 pink SC, INC (2 blue))* x 4 {24}

Please note that in the photo round ends with pink, but your round will end with a blue stitch.Round 3

R4: *(1 blue SC, 1 pink SC, INC (2 pink), 2 pink SC, INC (2 blue))*x 4 {32}Round 4

R5: 1 blue SC, INC (2 pink) *(1 pink SC, 1 blue SC, 1 pink SC, INC (2 pink), 3 blue SC, INC (2 pink))* x 3 , 1 pink SC, 1 blue SC, 1 pink SC, INC (2 pink), 2 blue SC {40}Round 5

R6: *(2 blue SC, 2 pink SC, INC(2 blue), 1 blue SC, 2 pink SC, 1 blue SC, INC ( 2 blue))* x4 {48}Round 6

R7: All blue, but you still crochet over the pink yarn.

3SC, INC, *(6 SC, INC) x 6, 3SC {56}, SL ST and FO.

Wave in all the yarn ends, and fasten the earring clip.

You are all done. To make a pair, all you have to do now is repeat everything to make the other earring.

Here is the photo of a coaster. I used Paintbox Simply Aran yarn in orange, green and red, and 4.00 mm (G/6) hook. I love this yarn – it comes in 50 shades and it is easy to work with. (You can get it at LoveCrafts). The size of the coaster is 3.5˝ (7 cm).The flower coaster free pattern

  1. Oh does this article ever bring back memories.  I used to crochet when I was younger but for some reason put it aside.  It is such a wonderful way to relax.  I love the two projects that you present here and the step-by-step instructions as these are much fancier than the crochet I used to do.  I have definitely bookmarked your blog to see what you come up with next!

    1. Hi. Thank you so much. I am glad you like it. I am so happy it brought back beautiful memories. I hope you will try crocheting again, it really is relaxing.

  3. I admire your quality work. it is very well designed. I am not wearing any earrings, but I know many women in my working field who do love them and have such an original piece would make some of the happy I guess, so I am keen on spreading the word at least. If I can ask you, how you are selling them? If you are selling them, as I didn’t find it within your post. And the second question, are you going to plan to expand your production? I can imagine that you might get a higher amount of customers later on..Best luck further!

    1. Hi. Thank you very much for your comment. I am glad you like my pattern.

      To answer your question, I am selling my finished items too, but only in Slovenia. I sell crochet patterns worldwide on Etsy. I don’t think I will have to expand my production any time soon 🙂

      Thank you for your questions, and for spreading the word.

      Have a beautiful day.

  4. I’m so happy I found your website, I was looking for a tutorial to help me to learn to crochet a pair of earrings and as soon as I saw your post on the internet, I fell in love with your design and the bright color of your earrings!

    I never had make such a little crochet project, but I’m sure with your tutorial I might be able to make them. I love how well the hearts stand out in your design.

    Can I make it with any yarn or I need to get the same yarn on your tutorial? Thanks you for your help.

    1. Hi. I am glad you like my pattern. Thank you for your comment.

      You can make the earrings with any yarn you want, just adjust the size of a crochet hook. But I recommend you use a hook a size smaller than recommended so that the contrast color hides well under the stitches. But if you use bigger yarn and hook, the size of the finished item will be bigger too.

      I hope I helped you. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

      Have a beautiful day, and enjoy crocheting.

  5. Thank you so much for sharing all these amazing crochet patterns! The earrings are so cute and I can also make that into the keychain as well 🙂 I love doing crochet when I am watching TV, I guess I am just too ADD to focus on only one thing. Have to go get the supplies and start making them. Cheers!

    1. Thank you so much. I am glad that you like my pattern. I also can’t do only one thing at the time. I feel weird watching a show and not having something in my hands.

      Have a beautiful day, and enjoy crocheting.
