I am so lucky to get to know all of these Etsy Bestsellers. Today I want to introduce another fabulous crochet designer. Her name is Kamila Krawczyk, and she is from Lodz, Poland. She is the founder of Krawka Etsy Shop.
You can find 83 amazing crochet patterns in her shop, from animals, monsters, heroes, to animated movie characters, crochet picture frames, and many more.
Krawka patterns are so astonishing; I am sure you will want to buy most of them. I know I do. And I have great news for you – Kamila was so nice, she gave my readers a special discount. With a code: READER15 – you get 15 % off – It’s only active for a month, until 10.10.2020, so make sure you grab this offer as soon as possible.
Kamila lives with her husband, two wonderful sons and a little daughter, and an ever-expanding collection of crocheted works.
She tries to combine her love to crochet with fantasy, mythical, and fairy tale themes in all of her pieces. Every item is designed, drawn, and then made with great care and attention to details. I believe that is why she is a bestseller because you can feel her love for the crochet in all of her patterns.
Get to know Kamila better, and read her interview below.
1. How did it all begin? Tell us your story.
It all began on my maternity break with my first son (now I have two and a beautiful baby daughter). I had some free time and a baby boy to whom I wanted to give something special made by my own hands. That is how I began to crochet.
When I shared my work online and with my friends, it was clear that I am not the only one who loves crocheting, I thought about selling the items I made, but it was not what people wanted exactly – They (just like me) wanted to make something with their own hands. And that is when I decided I will make patterns.
I started by making small free patterns for my blog – I carefully listened to every suggestion, comment, and tip people made. After some time (and after my second son was born), I finally started to sell my patterns online. And it changed my life. My pattern shop is my full-time job now, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
2. What inspires you?
My kids are my biggest inspiration – My oldest son (who is now 7) has a thousand ideas per second, and a few of them are actually brilliant 🙂 He invented HamBEARger – one of the best selling patterns in my shop. We love creating new characters together like dragons, zombie bears, or man-eating plants, everything that is cute and creepy at the same time. My second son (5) is a fan of cars and robots and superheroes, and my daughter (3) loves all animals in this world, including spiders and bugs.
3. How does your every day look like?
I take my kids to school and kindergarten, and I work on my computer all day – writing patterns, preparing the photos, answering emails and questions (In the meantime, I make laundry and dinner etc) I crochet in the evenings when my kids are asleep, usually to late night hours – That is the favorite and most relaxing time of my day.
4. What is your favorite yarn?
5. Do you have any advice for other sellers?
It may sound clichéd, but, most of all, be yourself – Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make a carrier out of crocheting (I have heard it more than once), but in the meantime, listen carefully to what your customers have to say. Read all the comments, but don’t let those negative get to you. Make patterns the way you would like to see them as the recipient with a lot of photos.
I love Kamila’s story so much – a mum of three with a career of her dreams, just because she dared to try something different.
That is why I love Etsy bestseller interviews; they always inspire me with their courage and persistence.
I love how Kamila includes her kids in her crochet work and makes their ideas come to life. I am sure they think their mum is a superhero. And not only that, these patterns become bestsellers.
Here is a kind reminder for a special discount again: READER15 – you get 15 % off – but make sure you grab this offer as soon as possible, because it is only active for a month, until 10.10.2020.
To get you even more excited, Kamila shares some free patterns in her blog. You can find a lot of cute Krawka free amigurumi patterns here: From Sunflower bouquet to Cute bunnies, to Crochet Cat hair clip, Heart pillow, Baby Dory, and many, many more.
You can also find some of her free patterns in my article here: Free Easter crochet patterns
I hope you enjoyed this interview as much as I did. Please, share with me, witch Krawka crochet pattern do you like best.
Have a beautiful day, and enjoy crocheting. I am sure your to-do list is a lot longer now. 🙂
