This year I decided to do a whole series on Halloween Crochet Patterns. You can find more of them here (Cute Girl Costumes, The Coolest Boy Costumes, Creepy Blanket (Pillow) Patterns, Cute and Scary Blanket (and Pillow) Patterns). Today I want to show you unique Crochet Halloween Costume Patterns for Adults.

According to Etsy, this year’s Halloween celebration will be quite different. Many of the events will be online events, which means you will basically need a costume only from the waist up. One good thing about this is that you can finish it a lot faster. 🙂

If you want to crochet your own costume, I have found some fantastic patterns that you will love.

The tradition of dressing in costume for Halloween has both European and Celtic roots. Hundreds of years ago, winter was an uncertain and frightening time. Food supplies often ran low, and, for the many people afraid of the dark, the short days of winter were full of a constant worry.

On Halloween, when it was believed that ghosts came back to the earthly world, people thought that they would encounter ghosts if they left their homes. To avoid being recognized by these ghosts, people would wear masks when they left their homes after dark so that the ghosts would mistake them for fellow spirits.

If you want to know more about Halloween origin or some fun facts, check my previous posts. Today I will only show you the patterns from two amazing Etsy shops.

The first one is Crochetverse. Do you know it? I am sure you have seen some of the patterns before. The founder of Crochetverse is Stephanie Pokorny from Mentor, Ohio, United States. Stephanie has created some very unique patterns that you will not find anywhere else.
